The 2015 BMW M3 is 4-door sedan that just entered its fifth generation labeled as F80. This new M3 will have more powerful engine than its predecessor had and comes with recognizable design. Being a car that comes from sport-line, it will highly emphasize performance as the main selling point.
BMW decided to opt for 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine instead of 4.0L V8 that previous model had. M3’s powertrain now develops as much as 425 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. There are two transmission options in 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch with which M3 should hit 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Highest speed will be electronically limited to 155 mph, but optional M Driver’s package will raise it to 174 mph.
Exterior hasn’t been changed a lot, at least at first glance. When you take another look, under the body panels, you’ll see that new model is much lighter thanks to extensive use of aluminum and carbon fiber. The 2015 BMW M3 has carbon fiber roof, trunk lid and drive shaft. Aesthetically, it still has trademark BMW’s front end fascia with vertically split grille and recognizable headlights. It also features sweeping roofline and familiar rear-end finish with Gurney lip spoiler.
Interior represents sublime combination of sport spirit and luxury. Only highest quality materials (chrome, carbon, leather and wood grain) were used in M3, just like in any other M model. Center stack doesn’t offer much, but makes a clear dividing line between front seats. Dashboard is heavy and riddled with controls. Just like all German car manufacturers do these days, BMW has also opted for center console touch-screen that powers up together with M3 and is neatly tucked away inside dashboard when car is inactive. BMW ConnectedDrive infotainment system comes with navigation, BMW apps, SiriusXM radio and 600W Harman Kardon surround sound system with 16 speakers. There are many safety features included and some of them are: lane departure warning, frontal collision warning, city collision mitigation, pedestrian warning, side and top-view cameras and many more.
