Without a doubt the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes as one of the best models on the SUV market. It is quite capable and feature rich and each step that it takes looks easy, weather it is up the mountain or down the road and all of that without making any real effort. New, 2016th model is coming soon, the king of SUV class will ride with style and grace again.
The 2016th model will not offer any big changes, better to say it will get some minor improvements with a modern design. The exterior of the Cherokee will be enriched with a mild facelift putting the Led light just a bit higher than in the previous model and the back segment will get a rear spoiler to further improve aerodynamics. We expect 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee to be offered in six trim levels as it was the case with the previous model: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit and SRT. All trim levels will come with optional: two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive (the luxurious SRT trim level will be obligated to include a four-wheel drive).
Depending of the trim level the exterior can offer: body-color grille with bright inserts, heated exterior mirrors, Led tail lamps, halogen quad headlamps, roof rails, rear window defroster, automatic headlamps, 20-inch wheels, automatic wipers and much more if you can afford it. The interior with an elegant design and a modern touch offers nothing but comfort and convenience. With a solid budget you can equip the interior with: 8-inch touchscreen, 19-speaker sound system, heated and ventilated memory front seats, wood or leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped steering wheel E gear-shifter for the eight speed transmission.
2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Changes
Taking in mind the previous model we predict that the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be offered with three options. The first one is the base unit 3.6 liter V6 with its 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and a fuel economy record of 17/24/19mpg city, highway, combined. The towing capacity for this unit is about 6000 pounds. The second engine is the 5.7 liter v8 with 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque and with fuel rating of 14mpg in the city, 20mpg on the highway and 16mpg all combined. With this engine you can tow up to 7500 pounds when properly equipped.
The third one is the 3.0 liter diesel V6 with 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque and has the towing capacity of 7400 pounds. Large amount of torque that turbocharged diesel offers is something that we really like and it can offer decent performances for 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is the engine with the best fuel consumption and a record of 21mpg in the city, 28mpg on the highway and 24mpg all combined.
Judging by the information we have gathered so far, this model is very similar to his predecessor so we anticipate the release date to be in similar period like it was the case with previous year model. Even we still do not have official confirmation of the release date we expect it to hit the market in the last quarter of 2015. They may surprise us and move forward the date before the winter season starts to show that the “big guns” are done and ready to go.
The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee price is still unknown, at least we do not have official info, but there are rumors about the possible starting price of $32.000. Since it will not bring any major changes we think that it will stay similarly priced like previous year version. This means that the top trim level will be offered at the price of about $41.000. We hope to get the full confirmation and details from the makers soon, until then we will keep you informed right here.
Update: Price has been announced and for base version of Grand Cherokee you will need to pay about $29,995.
